@owen402005 your absolutely right. christmas IS a pagan holiday, as well as easter and even wedding ceremonies. theres ALOT of christians that know this and still continue to celebrate them.
Actually it is derived from the Old English name All Hallows and its Celtic roots are in Scotland not Ireland as wrongly put (again….by the history channel, i really wonder why they call it the histroy channel when the only history relayed is that this American channel percieves or re-writes!) by the History Channel.

But Christmas is the result of many more celebrations than Yule. There’s no conclusive proof of Jesus’s existence and even if he did, he would be significantly different from the Jesus depicted in the Bible. Regardless, if the Church hadn’t intervened, Christmas would be exactly that same as it is today minus the Crosses and Nativity Scenes.

@owen402005 Yes, we all know that! The early church merged Yule with Christ’s birth to use a familiar holiday in a new way. Any one who can read knows Christ was most likely born in the Spring/Summer. This fact does not negate either belief.
Halloween came from the Irish festival of Samhain to be exact. Our people believed that spirits roamed the earth on this day, and we would light bone (or Bonefires) to ward off evil spirits. These bonfires would someimes be used to burn people alive, their ashes used for magic rituals.
